Original Article “Breastfeeding advice ‘is ignored’ “
Ok, so hospitals and, believe it or not, Formula companies are the leading informers to new mothers about the benefits and the “how to” when it comes to breastfeeding. However, the government also funds many programs throughout the country, namely WIC, that aim to teach women about breastfeeding & healthy nutrition.SO when I came across this article; I was astounded at the truth found in the research that was performed.
What do you think? Are women really ignoring what they are being taught about breastfeeding? What are the real reasons behind the woman’s choice to not give their baby the milk that their own body has produced. Are they be influenced to believe that their milk is not a sufficient source of nutrition for their baby. Their body has produced it for that very reason.
I wonder if women who have had bad experiences with breastfeeding would be willing to even go as far as to relactate if they knew that they would have the unconditional support from professionals and other members of a unique program? Who knows…
The BondServant Association & Foundation supports each woman’s ability to decide whether to breastfeed or not. However, we stand for, and strongly encourage breastfeeding mothers and their babies. By far, next to the mother’s milk, formula is no comparison when it comes to healthy nutrition, infection defense and protection from disease for mother and baby.
*Let’s not forget though, breastfeeding is about more than just giving your baby food to grow. It is also very important to provide skin to skin contact for your baby. You are not only nursing your baby but you are nurturing your baby, and believe it or not, but that also stimulates their growth and development! It’s amazing how it not only calms your baby, but it soothes you, the mother, as well. How funny to think that if your baby is irritated, and you have become irritated as well…NURSING your baby will relax BOTH of you at the same time!!!

Wow, it is so crazy that women are choosing to ignore all the wonderful benefits of nursing. I understand that it can be hard in the beginning, but your child’s health and well being make it all worth it. I really enjoyed your site. Come check out the mommy lounge. Reneca
